Our Leadership
Jay Lawrence
Chief Executive OfficerMr. Lawrence is a seasoned executive and technologist with hands on experience leading enterprises in diverse domains of the telecommunications sector including AI/ML, real time control systems, semiconductor, system integration/networking, datacenter, immersion cooling and fixed broadband (5G) systems. He has operated in these areas of business in a leadership role, globally, for the past 25 years running business from start up to a billion dollars. Most recently, he has led the Technology Enablement business unit of Supermicro Computer, Inc., (NASDAQ: SMCI) and has been CEO of multiple public and private businesses leading successful turnarounds and exits.
Tim Poor
VP of Channel SalesIn his role as VP of Channel Sales, Tim is responsible for creation and integration of new compute solutions architectures, platforms, service and support. He has held several executive leadership roles at Equus over the last 15 years, and implemented software systems and tools to automate and elevate the Equus customer experience. Tim has previously held Sales and Engineering roles at network attached storage startup Tricord Systems and imagesetter manufacturer Purup Eskofot.
Mark Starkson
Director of FinanceAs Director of Finance, Mark is responsible for planning, reporting, analysis and coordinating with across finance & accounting services. In this role, he focuses on implementing strong processes and data-driving decision support with a business partner mentality. Prior to joining Equus, he worked with other EQH businesses since 2013 in FP&A leadership and accounting roles.
Crystal Welna
Chief Human Resources OfficerCrystal Welna joined Equus Holdings in 2018. Crystal has diverse experience leading Human Resources strategies in large, medium and small companies including CSM Bakery Solutions, Dougherty Financial Group, Target Corporation, DaVita and Milk Specialties Global. In January 2022, Crystal obtained Kolbe Consultant certification. As a Kolbe Consultant, she teaches individuals and businesses the Kolbe Wisdom line of products to help Equus increase productivity, create team synergies, build leaders and determine the best candidates in the hiring process.
